Moderate physical activity forms real men
The results of a new study from the the University of Cordoba showed that moderate physical activity in men increases their hormone levels and provides “gym fans” with better “reproductive characteristics” by keeping their sperm viable and effective.
Researchers were interested in finding difference between hormone levels of sedentary and physically active men. The second (but not less important) goal of the study was to reveal the difference between sperm “efficiency levels” of two mentioned partakers' groups. “We have analysed qualitative semen parameters like the ejaculated volume, sperm count, mobility and sperm morphology," comments Diana Vaamonde, researcher at the University of Cordoba and lead author of the study, published in the European Journal of Applied Physiology.
As a result, scientists got the following conclusion: moderate physical activity can improve not only the appearance of a male, but also leads to his hormonal level, and sperm quality improvement. In other words, physically developed men can “improve the breed.” But it is also important to know where to stop. As showed a study conducted in 2010, elite sportsmen (in our case, men, who misuse physical exercises)have worse sperm characteristics than average “amateurs.”
