Barack and Michelle Obama enjoy public kiss

July 18, 2012

US president Barack Obama has proved he is an old romantic at heart by giving his stunning wife Michelle a smooch at a recent basketball game.

Cheering on his country's Olympic team, the Obamas - who were at the sporting event with their daughter Malia - featured on the fan's favourite Kiss Cam and puckered up to cheers from around the stadium.

Dressed down in casual clothes, the happy couple looked to be enjoying their time at the game, as they showed their support for legends including Kobe Bryant and LeBron James.

The politician - along with his vice-president Joe Biden - went to their seats as loudspeakers played Bruce Springsteen's classic hit single Born in the USA.

Speaking to ESPN2 after the game, Mr Obama seemed to be confident in the team's chances at the international sporting event.

He said: "Obviously the talent that we've got at this point is unbelievable. So there's no reason that we shouldn't bring home the gold. We just have to stay focused."
